'Kool Roots', initally released in1978, collates most of the Earth & Stone's songs for the Channel One label with blistering dubwise versions.

This compilation was initiated by Lee 'Scratch' Perry when he called Steve Barker and Roger Eagle on the telephone and said "Roger and Steve, make Lee Perry some money for Christmas Eve..."

The set features super heavy deliveries from Prince Far I, pre-ambient doodlings and quirky noises from David Toop and Steve Beresford and backing vocals from The Slits.
