Information

The inspirational ‘Let Us Do Something’ is one of Joe’s most thought provoking, positive and insightful songs where ‘The Maestro’ ponders again on life’s contradictions over a beautiful rhythm graced by some excellent guitar work. A classic.

A Masterpiece...

Marcia Higgs, Jan 28, 2008
The lyrical contents of this masterpiece has no boundaries and the solo at the very beginning generally fills me with goose bumps...
What is ther to say except that JOE HIGGS, himself, was a masterpiece!!!
If you don't have this one... your collection is in lack :)

Family Man has a knack of turning out high quality roots instrumentals. This is one of them. B side is good too.

  • Wailers - Guided MissileWailersGuided Missile

Drum machine led roots. There is a strong Lee Perry influence on this one. Not quite as over the top as Scratchs productions but never the less a good tune.

  • Bunny Lee/Various Artists - Full UpBunny Lee/Various ArtistsFull Up

A post rocksteady jamboree of Striker Lee's early reggae productions. Includes some pulsating instrumentals, soulful vocals and twisting dj verbosity. 21 tracks many from original master tapes, laced with evocative photographs that have been supplied by Bunny and his family and some excellent notes on the ‘Bunny Lee’ modus operandi by Diggory Kenrick. A single CD and double Vinyl Lp.

A really excellent book from Al Fingers 'One Love Books' who are fast gaining a reputation for being the premier label for all things related to Jamaican Culture. Can't recommend this highly enough. Lavish thoughtful and done with real panache.
Huddersfield a town in the North of England was always known as a hotbed for Reggae Music. This book explains why and how. Tasty.
