Information

Brand new album from the Upsetter covering the period from 1968 to 1973, all the tunes are from Jamaican releases and most tracks were never released in the Uk. Rare as they come and very funky. Lee Perry has given us lots of help with this release and were are thrilled to have such a fabulous compilation of his pre Black Ark productions on Pressure Sounds

  • Norman Grant & Tommy McCook - Mathew Mark Luke and JohnNorman Grant & Tommy McCook Mathew Mark Luke and John

Both sides of this Treasure Isle pearl are lovely. In particular the 'Sweet Lorna'. Well presented and pressed. Comes from the Lionel Messi of rocksteady (although Messi is possibly taller) Tommy Rock a Shacka of Japan.

Ouch!! This is bad. Meaning very good. The 'Flames in the Street' is a dizzy vamp that is totally hypnotic. If only music being made now was still this vital. I'm Gonna Move on is basically in the same groove. Essential!!

Another fascinating compilation from Numero Group's catalog which finds obscure gospel artists embracing the devil in funk and soul music, featuring primitive choirs, spacious breaks, congas, elderly rappers impersonating the devil, cast recordings and thumping bass.

The first overview of their indie label golden age, Still Here 1967–1973 finds the Notations at a musical crossroads, turning from simmering R&B ballads to socially-conscious soul.

The third installment in Numero’s series of otherworldly gospel, robed funk, and spiritual soul, Apocryphal Hymns is a slim new gospel songbook, penned powerfully by the genre’s lesser-known disciples
