Information

An excellent compilation of Horace Andy material from the early seventies. Produced by Phil Pratt and only ever previously released in Jamaica. 16 tracks on the CD and 14 on the single vinyl. Horace Andys soulful distinctive vocals float over driving rhythms. Pratt's own talents as a singer meant he could supply the harmonies as well as the production. Horace Andy was arguably at his peak during this period. Fresh from his brilliant work at Studio One 'Get Wise' has a mixture of love songs and conscious material. Comes with a free postcard when you buy direct from Pressure Sounds. A joy from start to finish.

Absolutely sweet soulful reggae. This is Horace Andy at his best and a lovely pressing too.

  • Jah Joe - Love on the seenJah JoeLove on the seen

A new four track ten inch from Junior Byles 'Love Power' label. The Jah Joe 'Love on the Seen' cut features a superb vocal performance on the Death In the Arena rhythm. Uptempo steppers of the highest quality. Jah Joe made very few records but this is a one away treat. Comes with the rocking Tubbys dub '78 Style' which Glen Brown had a hand in along with Junior Byles. The B side has Junior Byles as 'Boom B' with Jah Power + the version.

  • Barry Brown - Blackman should never turn his backBarry BrownBlackman should never turn his back

Barry Brown roots produced by Ripton "Eek-A-Mouse" Hilton in the mid-seventies. Very rare tune to find but no re-issued by Gaffa Blue. Nice dub piece on the flipside of the same tune.

Drum machine led roots. There is a strong Lee Perry influence on this one. Not quite as over the top as Scratchs productions but never the less a good tune.
