The pioneering precedent of Stone's racial, sexual, and stylistic mix had a major influence in the eighties on artists such as Prince and Rick James and legions more from the nineties onward as Public Enemy, Fatboy Slim, Arrested Development, Beck and many others all mined Stone's back catalogue for samples.

For those not familiar with Sly Stone this 2LP set (on 180 grams audiophile vinyl) is a great introduction and an invitation to dig deeper into The Family Stone´s incredible back catalogue.

The Cables led by Keble Drummond at their Studio One best. Great album. Recently repressed in Jamaica by Studio one. The sleeves have also been made in Jamaican so has some slight wear evident around the edges of the sleeve. Although it does say on the back sleeve that it was made in the UK!! Check the sound clips for sound quality before you buy. Overall its pretty good in terms of sound.
