Information

Recorded in two days in the summer of 1967 'Nefertiti' is Miles Davis' last fully acoustic album. No compositions from Miles himself and most tracks are written by Wayne Shorter & Herbie Hancock.

Best known for its very unusual title track, where the horns keep repeating the melody and the rhythm section improvises... instead of the other way around!

This acoustic album signals Miles' transition from bop to jazz fusion and hints at the next albums 'Miles in the Sky' and the critically acclaimed 'In A Silent Way'.

Rhythm Section: Tony Williams & Ron Carter

  • Barry Brown - Blackman should never turn his backBarry BrownBlackman should never turn his back

Barry Brown roots produced by Ripton "Eek-A-Mouse" Hilton in the mid-seventies. Very rare tune to find but no re-issued by Gaffa Blue. Nice dub piece on the flipside of the same tune.

Drum machine led roots. There is a strong Lee Perry influence on this one. Not quite as over the top as Scratchs productions but never the less a good tune.
