Information

Recorded in two days in the summer of 1967 'Nefertiti' is Miles Davis' last fully acoustic album. No compositions from Miles himself and most tracks are written by Wayne Shorter & Herbie Hancock.

Best known for its very unusual title track, where the horns keep repeating the melody and the rhythm section improvises... instead of the other way around!

This acoustic album signals Miles' transition from bop to jazz fusion and hints at the next albums 'Miles in the Sky' and the critically acclaimed 'In A Silent Way'.

Rhythm Section: Tony Williams & Ron Carter
