Check Point Charlie

Check Point Charlie

Information

'Checkpoint Charlie' finds Lester Sterling, Lynn Tait and the Gang in laid back Rocksteady mode. Stabbing horns lead the way and halfway through the record the groove takes off to somewhere really quite exceptional. The solo is a peach.
The B side is nice if you like that sought of thing.

  • Barry Brown - Blackman should never turn his backBarry BrownBlackman should never turn his back

Barry Brown roots produced by Ripton "Eek-A-Mouse" Hilton in the mid-seventies. Very rare tune to find but no re-issued by Gaffa Blue. Nice dub piece on the flipside of the same tune.

Drum machine led roots. There is a strong Lee Perry influence on this one. Not quite as over the top as Scratchs productions but never the less a good tune.
