Information

The Jamaicans covering the Sam Cooke song with some style. Jackie Mittoo rocks the b side with dexterity and grace. A master at work. Studio One supplied Jamaica with its sound track in the 1960s and both sides of this 45 are perfect examples Mr Dodd's ability to be in tune with the spirit of the times.

  • The Cavaliers - Blue SkaThe CavaliersBlue Ska

Top draw ska from Federal records. Very ably brought to us by Dub Store in Japan. The A side in particular is lovely thumping ska. Slightly less rambunctious than the Studio One offerings of the same period. But really good stuff never the less. Grab these pearls while they are available.

More unreleased Jammys dub plates. Flat as a pancake tone wise but still has a charm. Rocks on the b side as well.

Nitty Gritty on a slow digital ting. Very nice and the b side is pretty good too. Like all good singers Nitty Gritty has the ability to transport the most mundane lyrics into meaningful poetry.
