Pressure Sounds release a new set of Lee Perry productions entitled 'Mr Perry i presume'. It's a 16 track set that comes on a double vinyl and single cd. Tracklist to follow.
Five new titles just arrived from Dub Store in Japan. Ska titles and a trio of digital tunes. Nice as ever from Dub Store.
Next release on Pressure Sounds is a 10’ vinyl with four new cuts of the Chim Cherie rhythm. A side has 2 cuts mixed by Diggory Kenrick with Lee Perry on vocals. Diggory also gets to weave his flute though Scratchs playful lyrics.
The flipside has 2 melodica cuts bent around the bass heavy rhythm that was recorded at the Black Ark studio. Addis Pablo is building himself a reputation for modern roots music and his take on the Chim Cherie see’s him following in his fathers abstract evocative journey through the roots music he did much to define. The Pablo cuts are mixed by Martin Harrison. Comes in a hand stamped sleeve. Top draw. Available direct from Pressure Sounds in early September 2015.
We have a the Kool Roots vinyl Lp by Earth and Stone back in stock.
Four new cuts of the Chim Cherie rhythm.
Top draw ska from Federal records. Very ably brought to us by Dub Store in Japan. The A side in particular is lovely thumping ska. Slightly less rambunctious than the Studio One offerings of the same period. But really good stuff never the less. Grab these pearls while they are available.
More unreleased Jammys dub plates. Flat as a pancake tone wise but still has a charm. Rocks on the b side as well.
Wayne Smith with humorous tales of the neighborhood. 'She handle the ball like Alan 'Skill' Cole. Neat.
Nitty Gritty on a slow digital ting. Very nice and the b side is pretty good too. Like all good singers Nitty Gritty has the ability to transport the most mundane lyrics into meaningful poetry.
