As heavy as it gets!
As soon as 'Ire ire' kicks in you know you're in the heavyweight league. Even as a seasoned admirer of the deeper end of roots and dub, the sheer propulsive weight of these skanking rhythms still have a power that takes me aback with every listen. A huge, spacious production along with sparse snippets of Keith's brooding, darkside vocals and some fresh instrumental approaches give this music a unique aura. An essential disc for lovers of the deep. |

It's all in the bass
Heavyweight dub from Keith Hudson. Soul Syndicate are exceptional musically, and Hudson's weird interpretation of dub makes for some eerie and irie listening. The vocal snippets are used to great effect on this LP, but it's the bass that stands out. Some really memorable bass lines. Wonferful packaging and sleeve notes from Pressure too. Nice! |
